Gutter Cleaning and Repair York, PA

You hope for a standard cleaning, but we often have to troubleshoot issues.

While these gutters were certainly in need of a cleaning, the improperly installed spouting wasn't helping matters.

The normal procedure is to brush the gutters, scoop out debris, and finish with a flush.  When nothing will come out the downspout, we have the option of snaking the clog out or disassembling the downspout to find the issue.
That is when we found this.

The solid block was caused by a downspout connecting into the main downspout.  These gutters never would have served their purpose.  Both of the downspouts were fashioned in a way that caused them both to block each other.

The pictures explain better than words.

To rectify the issue, I cut the aluminum back on the inserted gutter so it only went into the main spout enough to keep with the original design, but this time without blocking the flow of rain.

If you're experiencing issues with your gutters even after they appear clean, it may mean you need to dig a little deeper to find the cause.
